In 1994, following discussions with various members of the oil and gas industry and service companies, ShoreBase began working towards the supply of specifically designed containers to facilitate the smooth movement of equipment and materials to and from rigs in the Timor Sea.
Particular consideration was given to reducing temporal constraints whilst increasing the ease and safety of practical operations. After considerable research and development, ShoreBase expanded its operations to incorporate the design, construction and testing (Proof Load and MPI) of containers and lifting equipment to EN 12079:1999 and DNV.
By the end of 1994, ShoreBase had designed and built 20 containers and 30 low bins to suit rig specifications as identified by the industry. Since that time, this division of the company has continued to expand, specialise and customise to meet industry demand.
ShoreBase has now built over 370 containers and provides long term clients with the opportunity to have their hired containers painted in their corporate colours and/or with their corporate logo.
